Was Paul Harvey A Prophet? This 1965 Broadcast Paints An Accurate Picture Of America Today

Paul Harvey

Most people over the age of 40 had the privilege of listening to Paul Harvey during some point in their life as his long running radio show “The Rest of the Story” (1976-2009) endeared multiple generations of listeners, with the real-life stories he narrated.

Was Paul Harvey a prophetic voice though? It does seem as one could conclude such, after listening to his April 3rd 1965 show, appropriately named; “If I were the Devil”. Now, I will say that no matter your spiritual leanings, whether Christian, Agnostic or Atheistic, Jewish, Hindu or Buddhist in view, his predictions are pretty “spot on” in terms of what this country has become.

Whether we view it as the devil did it, or we as man just allowed it to happen, many, if not everything he speaks of has come to pass. These things are not for the good of mankind, but to the detriment of it. We the People are destroying this country with our complacency and laziness.

We the People have nobody to blame but ourselves. We have sat back and let “big government” run amuck in Washington, as long as they doled out some “cash” once in a while so we could take a little vacation, grill a few burgers on the grill and watch our color tv’s, we were good. We idolized those who had the things we wanted, then coveted them for what we couldn’t have. We let the media sensationalize wars, accidents, death and mayhem while we sat at home telling ourselves that it only happened to “other” people. That it could never happen here.

We’ve allowed institutions of higher learning to demonize Christianity, saying it’s a myth, yet for what reason? Have you ever asked yourself why or what difference it makes to you, whether a person has their own faith in God? What difference does it make whether our country was founded under Godly principle or not? Does it hurt the non-believer so much, to have to admit that our Founders did include God in our country? Does it hurt the Christian so much to realize that we need to “love” everyone, regardless of their beliefs?

You see it just doesn’t matter how you believe. It doesn’t take a “rocket doctor” to notice that just about everything Paul Harvey mentions in this broadcast has come to fruition. We’ve managed to allow every bit of it to come true, like some sort of sick, self-fulfilling prophecy.

It’s time We the People get off our butts and start kickin’ some ass, or the country we all once loved… the way of life we all have grown accustomed to, will be no more. We cannot continue to expect people to do it for us. We cannot continue to pay people to “get it done”.  We have to get back to a better work ethic. We have to find the balance inside of us, and take this country back, as our Founders intended. Not with the use of violence, but with determination and desire, in a unity of unprecedented proportions.

So you can slam God all you want, I’m sure He’s quite used to it by now, but you can’t deny the prophetic words this article delivers in regards to our current national crisis. No matter how you “slice and dice” it, this country is going to “hell in a handbasket” pretty damn quick, and if we as whole, do not grow the “biggest set of balls” in history and start standing up for ourselves, we might as well get used to the idea of “slavery” once again.

I think he had a good conection with life and awereness of what was going on arround him as well as verry good foursite

  2. The ads alone on this site are enough prove Harvey’s prediction. Good grief!

  3. Wow! I was getting good flash backs there, as if I was back in the Fall of 1979 listening to Paul Harvey again, when I had first started listening to Paul Harvey on a radio station, was pretty impressed with what he had to say and how he said it, and had then faithfully started to listen to him all the time.
Paul Harvey- the new Prophet? What he spoke then in 1965, has definitely come now to be in the year of 2015. In fact it’s so exact in relation to what is going on now, that it gives me the chills for how on the mark he was, like exact!
